Meet Andrew J Deek DDS, MD

Dr. Andrew Deek was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended New Jersey Institute of Technology for his undergraduate education and continued to Columbia University in New York City to earn his dental degree. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee and completed a 6-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Dr. Deek went on to pursue fellowship in craniofacial surgery through Harvard Medical School at Boston Children’s Hospital. Upon conclusion of his training, Dr. Deek held an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in the department of Otolaryngology/ Head & Neck Surgery, Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to being a staff surgeon at Rhode Island Hospital, he continues to operate monthly at Jacobi Medical Center in New York where he participates in the interdisciplinary cleft team.
Dr. Deek’s surgical interests include dentoalveolar surgery including wisdom teeth extractions and dental implants, facial trauma surgery, orthognathic surgery, and craniofacial surgery for repair of facial clefts and other craniofacial syndromes. An author of numerous research articles and textbook chapters, Dr. Deek has been invited to lecture nationally at annual meetings and to residents within the fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery and otolaryngology. Dr. Deek is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Deek is looking forward to making Rhode Island his home, alongside his wife, young son, and two dogs.
