Meet Emery L. Nicholas, D.M.D., M.D.

Dr. Emery Nicholas graduated from Amherst College with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology while completing a premedical track.  She also participated on the women’s’ squash team and earned NCAA All-American honors two years and All-New England honors three years during her four year participation on the women’s’ lacrosse team.  After college she taught high school biology and chemistry and coached volleyball, squash and lacrosse at an all-girls’ private school in Connecticut.  She decided she’d like to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a dentist and she went on to  attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, earning her DMD and graduating in the top 10% of her class and being inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Nicholas completed medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College and her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York Presbyterian – Weill Cornell Medicine where she was elected Chief Resident for her final year.  In addition, she completed her general surgery certificate at New York Presbyterian Hospital, a time she found to be most valuable and significant in her growth as a provider.

She is very excited about joining University Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and moving home to her husband and daughter in the wonderful state of Rhode Island where he owns a restaurant in beautiful Watch Hill after spending six years in New York City. Dr. Nicholas loves yoga and exercising, reading, and spending time with her family enjoying the gorgeous Rhode Island Coastline.
